The Braden Scale is a standardized instrument to assess the risk of pressure ulcers. Three scales are described in this document. <br /></p><p><br /></p><p>1. The Braden scale is not explicitly designed for a specific age range, but as more specific scales have been developed for children and neonates, it is used for patients over the age of 8 years. <br /></p><p>2. The Braden Q scale is designed for patients between the ages of 21 days and 8 years, though some protocols set the upper limit at 5 years.<br /></p><p>3.
